The Competence Centre for Geoinformation (CCG) of the Swiss Parks Network is commissioned by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) to support the parks of national importance in implementing GIS solutions for the development of their projects. In addition to providing technical support, the CCG organises training courses and experience exchanges exchanges to allow the park teams to build or enhance their GIS skills.

Regarding the desktop GIS client, the parks’ geodata infrastructure was based on ArcMap until summer 2023. The introductory workshop on ArcGIS Pro marks the transition for the parks to this new generation of desktop GIS.
